The Cogdell Memorial Hospital Foundation is committed to helping promote good health within our community. Our Board members are community-committed citizens. They are your friends and family members and trust Cogdell Hospital with their medical care. They have your best interests at heart and generously donate their time to ensure that we have state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and programs to help the physicians and staff of Cogdell Hospital provide quality care.
It is our belief that every gift is special, regardless of the amount. When you donate to the Cogdell Memorial Hospital Foundation you can be assured that your support will impact and touch the lives of your family, friends and neighbors. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible and the Foundation invites you to designate a program or area that is meaningful to you, or allow us to apply your gift where the need is greatest.
In 2008 our bank balance was 23,844.71. Today we have a balance of $108,232.99. We have donated approximately $141,154 to the hospital for equipment, services, or to the employees since our inception.
History of the Cogdell Memorial Hospital Foundation:
2008 First Annual Golf Tournament. $1,000 of the proceeds donated to the Employee Christmas party.
2009 Second Annual Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the tournament allowed the CMH Foundation to host a welcome reception for the new Doctors coming into the Specialty Clinic.
2010 Third Annual Golf Tournament. Proceeds went to the foundation fund and used to better healthcare in the community.
2011 CMH Foundation purchased the automatic door for the entrance to the Day Surgery wing for $2,480.00. Employee Gift Baskets were distributed to show our appreciation for the Cogdell staff. A blanket warmer for the Operating Room was purchased for $4,000.
2012 First Annual Foundation Gala, “Cajun Fest.” Proceeds from this successful event were $34,000 and allowed us to purchase a Vapor Steam/Hygiena System for $2,361.23, contribute to the purchase of specialty surgical table for the Operating room and purchase gift baskets to the employees for Christmas.
2013 Second Annual Foundation Gala, “Back to the 50’s.” Another successful Gala Allowed the foundation to purchase automatic doors for the dining area, two MetaNeb Systems for $16,000, donate $34,000 towards the renovation of the OB Department, and purchase gift baskets for the employees for Christmas.
2014 Third Annual Foundation Gala, “Fiesta!”. Proceeds from this event allowed the foundation to purchase a new refrigerator for $9163.63 for the newly renovated lab. event we purchased a new refrigerator for the new lab. Employees were treated, once again, to gift baskets at Christmas.
2015 Fourth Annual Foundation Gala, “Casino Night.” Guests enjoyed an evening full of fun, food and games raising over $12,000. The event was held at the Armory in Towle Park (generously donated by the County for the cause). Small-town West Texas lived it up Vegas style withlarge fruit and veggie platters, pork loin carvings, tender loin carvings and large boiled shrimp (catered by Terry Juarez of Great Western Dining). Games Plus out of Lubbock provided the gaming tables and dealers for our West Texas Casino. Silent auction items, live auction items and special prizes created an air of excitement throughout the evening. Proceeds from the event went toward the purchase of 4 AED units which cost $34,000.
