BACKGROUND

Dr. Pitts grew up in a small town in Utah where he spent most of his

time playing soccer, and enjoying the outdoors. He has always enjoyed

sports, but has a special interest in soccer. In his youth he played

competitive travel teams, and later as he attended Brigham Young

University - Hawaii, played for their NCAA soccer team. Playing sports

kindled an interest in orthopaedic injuries, and their treatments, which

inspired Dr. Pitts to pursue a career in orthopaedics.

Dr. Pitts enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters. When

he is not busy fulfilling the honey-do list, they enjoy riding bikes,

hiking, and playing outside. He also shares his love of soccer with his

girls by coaching their soccer teams. He is active in the community, and

volunteers as a youth leader for teenage boys. He is also fluent in

Spanish.

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Pitts attended medical school at the Medical College of

Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While attending school,

he worked as an anatomy tutor for the Medical College.

He then completed a four year orthopaedic surgery residency

training in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science

Center. He was fortunate to work with many skillful physicians.

He received exceptional training with general orthopaedic

problems, as well as, trauma, pediatrics, joint, sports medicine,

and hand.

Dr. Pitts fulfilled a one year joints and robotics fellowship program

at the CORE Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He specialized in hip, knee

and shoulder surgery, as well as robotic surgery. However, he has

extensive training in all forms of orthopedic ailments, and treats

patients of all ages. His expertise is often sought in the treatment

of complex hip and knee problems, including revisions.

During Dr. Pitts’ fellowship training at the CORE Institute, he

became proficient in the use of robotics and navigational

technology. He currently is using MAKO and Navio robotics for more

exact measurements that decrease rehabilitation time, and reduces

wear on prostheses to ensure longevity.

Dr. Pitts is also interested in the continuation of gaining skills, and

orthopaedic knowledge. He collaborates with fellow physicians,

and has published and presented scientific articles.

The primary goal for Dr. Pitts is working to educate patients so they can
